The Federal Treasurer announced changes that have affected the Food at Work benefit and the claiming of Laptop computers.
Please note that the Meal and Entertainment benefit that is available to some hospital and charity organisations has not been affected by these changes.
However, in relation to Food at Work, TaxBite and Cafe Card deductions that you have already had taken from your pay will continue to be available to you to spend on your card until you have used them. However, credits that may have been due to be loaded on Tuesday 13th May, 2008 have not been loaded and Remunerator is in liaison with your Employer to arrange the return of this particular deduction to you. Your payroll will also be advised to cease taking any further deductions for the Food at Work benefit.
In relation to Laptop computers there is a requirement that you declare that this has been purchased predominantly for work purposes. If you have not yet completed your reimbursement claim for your laptop you are now required to complete this new form. You can click here to obtain a copy of this form.
